The offense sets up with a 2 - 1 - 2 formation similar to the shape of the pips on a die's 5 side. The center player should be set up 10 yards from the two handlers. The two deep players should be set up 15 yards downfield from the middle cutter and each other.
The cutters will cut counter-clockwise to the next point in the triangle. The in-cut from the left side of the field is the
These cuts continue in the same direction regardless of the side of the field the disc is on.
If the disc is on the right side of the field the handler has three options.
1) Throw a downfield strike to the player cutting deep
(reset)
2) Throw a slight break to the player cutting in.
(reset)
3) Throw a hard break to the other handler. This break is made easier if the handler cuts forward and then makes a hard and fast return cut.
Like so.
(reset)
The player on the left has an option for all four other players.
1) Throw to the in cutting player (most common)
(reset)
2) A swing to the other handler
(reset)
3) A deep break to the crossing player (watch for the incutting defender!!!!)
(reset)
4) A deep throw to the out-cutting player (only use in 2nd half of field, and make sure to use an Inside-out angle to make it harder to defend)
The priority is to keep our shape intact, so if a player gets the disc in the middle of the field...
Handlers advance, the two deep cutters move further downfield...
the disc is dumped to a handler, ideally the left one, and the triangle restarts.
