The Pull: disc lands near sideline
Offense sets up horizontal
Chases1+2 cover no dump/swing (#2 can back away from the disc to cover hammer swings, but keep acute angle with #1). Wing4 and Mid3 stay close to cover inside of the field and also contest crashes. Wing5 stops upfield throws to cuts 6/7.
Open side crashes are covered by Mid3, breakside crashes by either Mid3 or Wing4.
This is likely to happen: mid3 covers crash on one side & other side opens up. Solution: Mid3 has a close Wing4 covering a break throw, so don't over commit to break side crash.
Three words: dynamic, dynamic dynamic. Contest with your body, while following the throwers next look with your eyes.
As quickly as possible, reset structure to deny inside throw. This leaves swing to open side handler (Wing5 still covering up-field / up-line throws).
Deep7 (on the open side / threatening side) needs to pick up deep cutters. Deep6 needs to recognize this & keep wide to SEE the whole deep space & provide backup to Deep7, who is contesting the sideline threat.
Theory: the deeps cover the deeps, the mid&wing cover the middle.
Reality: overhead or lofty throws over mids to mid-field cutters. NOW WHAT??
Wings4&5 approach their reset positions at an angle to cover swing & upline cuts.
Chases1&2 approach the reset positions from behind (blocking up early dump) & toward their force side (break side). Mid3 approaches their reset on either side, but can make call based on where a cutter is threatening.
If in first 2/3rds of the field, ZONE RESETS. Deeps keep BEHIND any deep cutters and keep wide n the endzone (to maintain a view of the red zone).
If in last 1/3rd (aka red zone / aka panic stations...NOT), deeps can call wings into endzone to help cover multiple offenders. NB: dedicate each deep/wing pair to one side, like a clam - do not follow cutters across the endzone, rather vocally hand them off to that side deep.
Deeps6+7 must keep wide positions & call for help from their respective Wings.
Wing5 is first to drop back to help (Wing4 can still help prevent inside breaks).
As offensive approaches endzone line, Wing4 also drops into endzone, where Deeps and Wings work together to clam offensive (whether vert stack or random cutters).
Mid3 becomes like 3rd in a cup with Chases. Try to restrict/contest inside breaks/swings.

Stall-count 9 throw...TURN! :-)
