Step by step 6 steps
  1. Step 1

This is a zone defense where defense is red and offense is blue. This might be our main defense or something we would like to try out. Basically in this set up, red 1 and 2 will be girls, their responsibility is to force the disc towards the middle of the field and forcing the opponents to lose yards. The responsibility of red 3 is to watch for anyone coming to try and get the throws from the space between red 1 and 2. Red 4 and 5 are looking for the throws towards the side of the field while red 6 watches for the big throw all the way into the end zone.

  2. Step 2

In this setup, they would most like be throwing to disc to blue 2. Note that the red 2 is moving at an angle upwards instead of going to blue 2. As mentioned previously, their responsibility is to force the disc back into the middle of the field. By moving 45 degrees upwards, red 2 would cover the angle for the throw to the side to happen. As blue 3 comes in to try to get the disc, red 3 follows in as well to deter the disc from being thrown to blue 3.

  3. Step 3

The most likely thing for blue 2 to do now is to once again throw the disc back to blue 1 and we repeat the same thing.

  4. Step 4

Once in a while, blue 2 might look to run up and get the short distance pass from blue 1. This is the responsibility of red 3 to stop. But in the event red 3 is unable to stop that pass from happening, red 3 will back off instead.

  5. Step 5

We will then move to set up roughly looking like this.

  6. Step 6

They may look to sometimes make a long throw into the end zone for blue 6 and it will be red 6's responsibility to get the disc. So it is very important for red 6 to be alert and be ready for the big throw into the end zone.
