Step by step 9 steps
  1. Step 1

When the disc is on the sideline, we want to get it into the middle of the pitch. The first look is to try and immediately centre the disc to the dump.

  2. Step 2

If the dump mark takes that away, the dump handler cuts up the line, while the front of stack fills the position for the reset.

  3. Step 3

If the initial motion does not succeed, the new dump can cut up line again.

  4. Step 4

After cutting up the line, there are two options. Either you can clear out deep and then rejoin the back of the stack (like player 2), or if you cut all the way to the sideline and your mark is taking away the up-line throw you can double back to the front of stack for an IO break (like player 3).

  5. Step 5

There are a few extra things to think about:

  6. Step 6

If the dump can see that their mark is selling out to take away the up-line...

  7. Step 7

They can call "JUDAS!" and cut back to their original position. They need to call this loud and early so that (a) the handler knows where to throw, and (b) so that the front of stack can abort their cut into the same space.

  8. Step 8

The other interesting case is when the force is into the pitch rather than up the line.

  9. Step 9

In this scenario, the dump should set up slightly behind the disc. When they cut up the line, this opens up an earlier window to throw into.
