Step by step 17 steps
  1. Step 1

Red Zone Setup: We call redzone roughly 20-30yds outside of the endzone. Normal Vert Stack offense is cutter initiated (first cut is from back of the stack) whereas our Redzone is "Handler Initiated". This means that our first look and first cut comes from the dump and 1 in the stack as designated handlers.

  2. Step 2

Dump goes upline: The first principle of this structured Redzone is that everything is IMMEDIATE. Upon redzone being called, the cutters do not move and the dump IMMEDIATELY takes an upline strike if lined up on breakside when called.

  3. Step 3

Front stack is going to fill the spot the dump leaves open and is looking to receive on the breakside. Front stack should leave to fill dump spot once dump cutter clears plane of the thrower. Front stack cutter should NEVER go past the horizontal plane of the thrower and into the backfield on the dump cut.

  4. Step 4

If Dump is looked off on breakside (can be very early) Dump IMMEDIATELY goes upline.

  5. Step 5

If Front Stack gets the around (ABUSE THE BREAKSIDE) the back of the stack cuts toward the front cone for a big under continue. REMEMBER: stack does not move except to finish a continue on breakside. Back of the stack ONLY can cut opportunistically.

  10. Step 10

IF you throw to the open side (aka upline) you go to the open side (aka make an upline cut) Remember our principle of immediacy. Upon the disc coming out of your hand, you TAKE OFF.

  13. Step 13

    Plays the around, upline clears

    12345671234567
  14. Step 14

It is extremely important that if you catch the disc on breakside, that you turn and fake to that back of the stack cutter even if they are not open. This will force your defender to get into the correct position to hold the force and allow for an easier give-and-go to open side for you. Back of the stack cuts, doesn't get the disc

  15. Step 15

throws openside dump into space and IMMEDIATELY goes upline as stack gets reset back up

  17. Step 17

steps 14-16 Apply for if dump is lined up on openside when redzone is called. Throw the dump open on open side. Dump create space for the thrower, then once received our rotation begins again.
