The offense sets up off a pull or goal by the other team. We typically put whoever has the mismatch or can strike deep well as Player 3, first in the stack. Red dutifully sets up their man defense. Keep the stack fairly close.
Players 2 and 1 make hard, straight cuts to opposite sides, as soon as the play starts. Player 2 cuts first and chooses a side, Player 1 cuts immediately after they see which way 2 is going. Player 3 chillaxes.
Suddenly, as soon as there's a clear lane (around stall 3 or 4), Player 3 strikes deep. IMPORTANT: As a general rule of ultimate, when you cut deep, try to cut straight down the middle as much as you can. This gives your friendly handler a lot more room to place the disc in a way that leads you to it easily. If you cut at a hard angle towards the sideline, there's a lot less room for an ideal lead pass in front of you.
