Step by step 7 steps
  1. Step 1

Handler (1) has the disc on the breakside. The Dump's (2) defender is playing tight. The Handler is too close to the break sideline to allow for a butt cut.

  2. Step 2

Dump goes upline and Ace fills. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE ACE ANTICIPATES THE NEED FOR A NEW DUMP AND FILLS QUICKLY.

  3. Step 3

The handler looks to hit the Dump (2) as he clears to the Ace position. This works because the Dump defender tried to undercut the upline and gave up the open-side for the checkback. IF THE ACE (3) IS SLOW TO FILL, THEN HIS DEFENDER WILL GET THE D HERE!!! IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, THE ACE FILL (3) SHOULD STILL BE ABLE TO GET OPEN.

  4. Step 4

2 catches up to the disc that was thrown to open space. 5 is already cutting as they see the disc thrown. The stack moves back representing the new field position. 3 moves to be the open-side dump and 1 clears to the ace spot.

  5. Step 5

2 hits the open 5. Alternatively, there is a deep option in 4. If neither option is available, 2 engages 3 for a butt cut.

  6. Step 6

In this scenario (5 getting the disc), 2 is now best positioned for the dump and 3 will move to the break-side dump. The cutters clear.
