This zone is designed to: slow down the opposing team's offence; force them to take risky overhead options; and cause them to make many passes, all of which increase the chance of a drop/block/throwaway.
The 'Chasers' (1&2) always force to the middle of the pitch, which creates a channel between them for the disc to pass through.
The mid's (3) job is to block the channel and leave the handler no choice but to throw over them
The mid also moves in to stop crashes towards the disc.
The remaining two players (4&5) are the deeps. Their jobs are to intercept high passes going over the chasers and mid.
It is important that the deepest defender is not overloaded by offensive players.
In this case, the other deep will drop back and the mid will cover the middle player
If the disc moves to the other side of the pitch, everyone adjusts there position. It is important to note that the deep on the side of the disc is closer.
