Step by step 8 steps
  1. Step 1

Here we are playing with three main handlers: 3, 4, and 5. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first thing to understand is that when the cup and the zone are set up properly, the only really high % throw is to 3, the dump/release. We have to move things around a bit before good openings are created. What we will try is swinging the disc, AND some nice midfield cuts to create space. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -4 will pass to 3, then 4 will immediately hit the midfield for a quick give-and-go.

  2. Step 2

-3 is going to either IMMEDIATELY hit 4 back, if the give-and-go is there, or IMMEDIATELY swing it over to 5. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -4 upon not receiving the give-and-go, is either going to hang out on that side, as one of the three handlers, to be the next swing... or he can crash toward the cup as 5 receives the disc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -2, anticipating the swing, is going to break for the side. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -1 or 7 are waiting for the middle to clear up so that one of them can hit that, then the other go deep

  3. Step 3

-5 is going to IMMEDIATELY hit 2, if the run was good ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -1 is going to hit the mid, while 7 goes deep ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6 is going to hit the midfield in the space left by 2's cut

  4. Step 4

-5 sees 2's run get cut off, and throws it back to 3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -4 gets ready for the swing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -3 is ready to immediately toss it to 6, or 4... which ever one is left open by their midfield defender #4

  5. Step 5

-3 throws it to 6 and then comes up immediately to give 6 a release if they need it ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  6. Step 6

-6 can now either make the open pass to 1, if they are sure of it, OR wait briefly while the three open handlers get up to help them out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  7. Step 7

See how moving the disc laterally across the field, with an easy dump-off + swing pass, has murdered the zone. The cup players are exhausted from covering the ground you've been covering only by throwing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now that the zone is all messed up, many opportunities arise. 7 is open with one simple cut, since we have a direct lane to them now (unlike before with the cup in place). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Of course, it's always an option to simply go back to one of your handlers, and head up field.
