This is going to be a static end zone play. It will be initiated if the other team turns it over near the end zone or if we call a time out close to their endzone. This works best if the disc is on the sideline.
We will set up in a vertical stack with 5 cutters and 2 handlers (typical ratio). If you notice though, the vertical stack is not in the middle of the field, but it is off center a bit. we want this.
H1 will pick up the disc on the sideline. If you notice the second handler (in our case, Mamma-Ng) isn't set up in a horizontal line with H1, but set up in front of H1. For this play, don't set up in line with H1. Setup in front of H1.
Mamma-Ng will make a cut towards the stack (towards the break side)
After making the initial cut, Mamma-Ng stops and cuts back the other way towards the corner of the endzone (note the pylon). Pretty much, a 7 cut is made.
As Mamma-Ng makes the 7 cut, H1 will throw a frosty Outside-In (OI) flick into the endzone for the score.
Beware of defenders 4 and 5.
Defenders 4 and 5 will try to poach off and intercept the disc before Mamma-Ng gets it.
So before Mamma-Ng completes her 7 cut, cutters 4 and 5 should make a move or a fake a cut.
By doing so, defenders 4 and 5 will be pre-occupied with their man and will be less likely to poach.
If Mamma-Ng cannot get the disc by the time she makes her cut, H1 has the opportunity to throw it to cutters 4 or 5 by using a wicked sick hammer. This isn't the ideal throw though. The better throw is to throw it to cutter 1 (the backup handler)
blank step
Cutter 1 can make a dump cut to get the disc off the sideline.
blank step
Or make an upline cut to seal the deal.
Mamma-Ng goes to the back of the stack as cutter 1 makes their cut.
There's way more details about this type of play so we can go over it before our games.
