Scenario 1: center handler has the disc. When his stall count reaches FOUR (4), he looks to his fellow handler on the BREAK side. That is, the side opposite of the side being forced. This scenario assumes a forehand force. So, he looks at player 1.
Player 1 initially moves straight towards the center handler.
Then, player 1 makes a sharp cut at a 45 degree angle up the field.
The center handler throws player 1 the disc.
If player one was not open, the center handler now looks at the FORCE side handler. He looks at player 3, and player 3 does the opposite of what player 1 did.
Player 3 moves towards the center handler. Player 1 starts to clear the lane.
Player 3 makes a 45 degree cut downfield. The center handler should PIVOT ALL THE WAY AROUND AND THROW AN EASY BACKHAND.
Players 1 and 2 clear back, since player 3 is now the center handler.
Scenario 2: Force side handler has the disc. Remember, forehand force = the force side is on the right.
Basically the same thing as before. Player 3 initiates a strike cut when the force side handler looks at him/her.
Player 3 gets the disc.
Players 1 and 2 reset.
Now, what if the center handler isn't open?
The far handler (the break side handler) needs to step in. He should be cutting towards the force side handler at the same time as the center handler.
The disc is reset.
The handlers get back in position.
Scenario 3: The break side handler has the disc. This is a little different than the first two scenarios.
The center handler makes the same cut as before, but in the opposite direction. First he moves horizontally, directly towards player 2...
Then at a 45 degree angle upfield, BUT...
He now makes a cut right back the way he came, so it's an open swing reset.
Swing it all the way across!
Thank you for reading through all of this! Remember, these cuts take time, so initiate all resets by LOOKING AT THE HANDLER NO LATER THAN STALL FOUR. Finally, if no one is open, just huck it as far as you can. Someone might get it, or if they don't, at least the turnover is way upfield.
