Initial zone setup with 2 chasers, 3 on the wall, and 2 deeps. The goal is to force throws towards the middle.
Wall is responsible for blocking any upfield throws. Any cutters trying to crash the cup is the prime responsibility of the mid-mid (4). The two wings can help out as needed but their prime responsibility is to cut off throws to the outside...if the wings collapse in too much we'll get broken wide.
Force side chaser is responsible for shutting down the force side swing, while the chaser marking the thrower is responsible for not allowing any breaks
If a swing occurs on either side, the wings are responsible for stopping the continuation throw
If we get them onto the sideline we'll hold mostly the same formation but trap them on the line. The wall will curve around a bit to cover the break side throw now that the line is helping us pin them in. The free chaser now becomes responsible for shutting down any big swings. This will look a lot like a 1-3-3 defense.
On swings the closest chaser to the thrower becomes the mark with the other chaser blocking off swings to the opposite side. Reform the box as quickly as possible.
Both deeps are responsible for anything thrown over the box...but you need to communicate as only one person should be going deep while the other plays a short deep
If the disc goes over the wall the deeps should sandwich the receiver with one over top and one underneath if possible.
