Disc is pulled.
Stack forms in the middle of the field. Catch (C) catches the disc.
C throws to hitch (H). Force is flick.
1 initiates offense with an in cut and receives the disc on (or within 3-5 yards of) the sideline.
Stack pushes to get in front of 1's in cut. Catch pushes upfield to lineup behind the 7. 1 looks upfield for 2 for continue cut. It's not viable so, it's time to reset!
H makes a viable upline cut, but the window is too narrow, so H continues downfield. 7 initiates the second handler option behind the 1 for a dump-swing pass.
PLEASE NOTE: when the mark changes position to a "no-dump" look, the 7 is no longer a viable option. THE STACK MUST PAY ATTENTION TO THIS.
In flow, the reality is that H will not be able to clear under the C at the front of the stack and a cutter will become the third reset option. THIS WILL HAPPEN. AND IT WILL BE OKAY. : ) H has to pay attention, too, and clear to the back of the stack. 7 will clear wide to the break side to create space for the C to cut for a reset.
The primary option is to get C in the dump position behind the 1. C jab-steps to the open side to shake his/her defender....1 throws a great force-side fake....7 busts to the far sideline to create space....
....and C gets an EASY forehand throw to the middle of the field (usually in line with the stack). 7 clears down the sideline looking for his/her opportunity to return to the stack. F1 becomes the swing cut (because s/he is at the front of the stack)
As 7 finds his/her way back to the stack, we need to initiate continue cuts so 7's defender cannot poach. In this illustration, the 2 cuts in from the middle of the stack and F2 cuts deep to create options for F1 AND keep the defense honest. When the cutters leave the stack, it is imperative that the remaining cutters maintain the integrity of the stack so we have our deep options available.
F1 has the throw and decides to throw long to F2 for a GOOOOOOOOOAAALLLLLL!!!! Again, we want this throw to the middle 1/3 of the field so the cutter can run on to it and the thrower has room for error. : )
