Play Starts
Initial Set up - Ho stack uses full width of pitch (wings should be able to touch the sideline!) . Active pair is the two playrers in front of the disc. Stack is distributed so that active pair has as much space as possible.
Default rotation (1) - cutter from the active pair on the open side cuts under first. Cut provides good angle for quick i-o and around breaks. Cutter must look for eye contact from handler before moving to ensure handler is ready. Breakside cutter from the active pair cuts straight away/deep.
Default rotation (2) - if the break is not thrown the away cutter (number 3) cuts back under onto the open side. This is our default roataion. However, it is important for cutters in the active pair and handlers to communicate if another option is more favorable given the conditions, defence set up etc
Downfield Reset - When the first few rotations/passes have been completed, horizontal stack can get very messy further downfield. This leads to rushed passes and turnovers. In this situation, the handlers may call 'reset' at which point all cutters and handlers return to their original set up and the handlers pass the disc among themselves in the mean time. When the stack has been reset the handlers will shout 'cut' to reintroduce the cutters into play via the default pattern. The cutters should not move until the handlers call this.
