Our two handlers and MamaD are in the usual setup. The goal of the handler movement is either get the disc to the break side to attack downfield or get the disc in power position for a huck opportunity.
#1 turns and faces Handler #2. #2 takes a quick jab step upfield - driving into their defender to put them on their heels.
#2 cuts behind the thrower to the breakside for an easy reset. We are now ready to attack downfield on the breakside.
RESET. Now the defender #2 is taking away the pass behind the thrower. We have two options. Option A is ideal.
Option A: #2 takes a quick jab step toward defender #2
#2 cuts upfield into the open space and is ready for a power position huck.
RESET. Option B
#2 cuts all the way behind the disc. Defender #2 shuts it down
Handler #2 plants hard, changes direction, and catches an easy dish on the open side.
BONUS: This is a great spot for handler #1 to do a give-and-go move to get the disc in power position. Defender #1 is not able to defend the upline cut. We're now ready for a huck.
RESET. What if the defense is doing a lot of poaching/switching?
BAD IDEA: Throw a swing to the force side right away to handler #2. The defense wants the disc to go here and we'll have to go right into the off the line play
RESET:
Throw throw goes to handler #2 behind the disc again. Since defender #2 isn't guarding the handler, there is no need to make any kind of fake. From here we can attack up the field. Note how far away defender #2 is from the play and the disc - she isn't doing much useful at the moment. That's good!
What if defender #1 sees what's going on and switches? defender #2 catches up to the original thrower.
Handler #1 cuts back to even with the disc and on the force side.
Handler #2 cuts upline and is ready for power position
