initial set up of bracket( red 1 and 4 are bracketing blue 1 and 4)
B1 makes their cut deep, which signals R1 to follow.
as B1 starts coming under R1 starts communicating to R4 that they have "one coming in" or "you have one under".
switch off
R4 will stay with B1 until they are not a threat. At this same time B2 is making a deep cut but that is not R1's responsibility to cover them.
the 2's return to the stack. B3 makes a fake deep and then comes under. both R1 and R4 will also leave them alone because B3 is not being bracketed.

B4 makes under cut, R4 is watching for them and guards them. at the same time B1 makes a deep cut which R1 defends.
B4 returns to stack. B1 is coming under and notice that R1 is following B1 and not going back deep to cover B2 though they have cut into deep space.
R1 has been signaled to "pick up" B1. again ignores B3 coming under because B3 is not being bracketed.

oh no. now they realize what we are doing on defense and so they "break the bracket" by "flooding". ( making R4 "choose" between the two B1 and B4 that came under) This is when The deep should be realizing what is going on and come under to help out(R4 should also be yelling back for help.). normally this is also we would "fall out of the bracket" which simply means the under(R4) and deep(R1) play normal man defense on the person they pick up.
