Disc on the sideline. Force is towards the sideline. The Primary dump (1) is 15 yards away but on the same plane as the thrower. The secondary dump (2) is about 10 yards further back. The thrower and the two dumps are all lined up.
STALL 2! Any time we have the disc on the sideline it is imperative that we get it moving as quickly as possible. Turn to the dump early!
The act of turning to the dump activates them. They initiate cut that starts directly towards the thrower then goes upline.
This sudden change of direction can often be enough to create separation and make the up the line cut viable. After a few steps by the primary, the thrower controls the play.
After the first few steps, the thrower will know if the dump is open. If the mark is allowing the throw, the thrower just puts the disc with a little outside in bend into the space in front of the dump and the dump runs onto it.
REWIND: Dump defender is in a good position to defend the dump pass. Mark is neutral or striking, Thrower fakes an upline throw to get the marker to shift more to that side. The fake signals the dump to reverse direction and move for an around dump pass. As this happens, the secondary starts an up the line cut motion.
As the dump continues into the backfield, the thrower pivots through the marker. Secondary dump is still pressing up the line. If the throw goes up, they reverse direction to set up a swing pass. If the throw doesnt go up, they continue the up the line cut into the space vacated by the primary dump.
Thrower puts the disc into space with a little outside in bend, primary dump runs onto it. After catching the primary looks immediately to the secondary to see if a swing pass is open. Secondary has reversed their upline cut and is moving into the swing pass space.
Primary completes the swing pass to the secondary.
REWIND: Primary not open on the around dump. Thrower fakes a backhand which signals the primary to slide back towards the original secondary spot. The secondary continues their up the line cut.
Thrower pivots back through the mark. Secondary is open up the line.
Thrower puts a little outside in throw into the up the line space. Secondary runs onto it.
