Welcome to the Bath Ultimate Intermediate Cutting Drill 1 playspedia
First off, apologies that this particular drill isn't to scale. In this drill the cones are arranged into two boxes. The inner box (D-BOX) is ~8m^2 box, and the outer box (O-BOX) is ~10m^2 box.
The Blue Player is the Offense and the Red player is the defense. The objective of the drill is for the O-Player to reach the O-BOX bfore the D-Player reaches the D-Box in the same line.
To achieve this the O-Player wants to change direction sharply as many times as is necessary to create separation between them and their defensive marker.
Once the offensive player thinks they have created the needed space, they sprint for the O-BOX
The O-Player wins if they reach their box before the D-Player reaches the D-BOX and vice-versa.
Then the next pair goes, switch roles each time through.
