Step by step 4 steps
  1. Step 1

Again, set up in a vert stack, but in more of a straight line. The middle cutter (#5) is the player we are trying to isolate.

  2. Step 2

Typically, we make cuts from the back of the vert stack. In this play, however, the cuts come from the front. The front cutter, the person who set the stack, cuts horizontally to the force side, dragging his or her defender away from the stack.

  3. Step 3

The second cutter from the front cuts to the break side, again dragging the defender away from the stack.

  4. Step 4

Finally, the middle cutter, the person for whom we are setting up this play, will be expected to follow suit, breaking off to the force side. However, that third cutter will break forward towards the front line of the end zone. The handler will have to get them the disc quickly, otherwise the cutter will come out of the end zone and the play will not go as planned. As opposed to the first play, if this throw is not there, the entire stack resets, the disc is swung to the other handler, and a regular vert stack is run.
