Welcome to the Bath Ultimate 'Cuts & Throws' playspedia
In this drill we are looking for everyone to throw lots of passes, and developing an understanding of cutting into space
In Ultimate Frisbee you need to CUT, in order to lose your marker and be open to receive a pass. In this drill we will look at cutting without a defender to begin with.
The cutters are cutting to the back cones, before turning sharply and running under
to receive the disc from the thrower
Once the pass is completed, the cutter waits in the endzone behind the thrower, and the next cutter goes
We cycle through until everyone in the stack has cut, and received a disc. Then we change the thrower and run it through again
The Thrower should be looking to 'LEAD' the cutter. This means throwing the disc in front of the cutter, so that they can catch it without breaking stride.
The RED player represents the 'DEAD SPACE' where the stack is. In a game, throwing too near the stack will mean throwing near a defender, and should be avoided where possible. So for now, throw around this defender
If time allows, we will develop this drill to include markers for the cutters.
