Thrower has disc in the middle of the field. Primary dump is 15 yards behind. Secondary dump is 10 yards on the break side. This formation is used whenever there is at least 10 yards on either side of the thrower.
STALL 3! Thrower turns to the open side and faces the primary dump. When the thrower turns, the primary dump is activated and starts their movement immediately.
If the dump defender is on the open side of the primary dump, the primary dump cuts break side immediately and gets the dump pass there.
If the dump defender is even or on the break side, the primary dump cuts at an angle to the open side and comes to a decision point. The decision point should be at a 45 degree angle back from the thrower, about 10 yards away.
Primary dump reaches the decision point. At this point the THROWER makes a motion to throw or to fake. If the dump defender is clearly beaten, the throw goes up right then.
REWIND: Primary dump about to start cut.
Primary dump reaches the decision point. If the THROWER sees that the defender is gaining hard or is in a position to make a play, instead of throwing, they FAKE the disc. The fake signals the dump to change direction and come to the break side.
The act of the FAKE usually allows the primary dump to create separation from the defender, enabling an easy reset pass to the break side.
REWIND: Primary has been shut down on both cuts. Thrower fakes again, and the primary dump reverses direction.
Again, the act of the FAKE allows the primary to create separation, enabling pass back on open side.
REWIND: All three cuts have been shut down on the primary dump. Thrower immediately turns to the secondary dump who is looking to move into the space vacated by the primary dump. The primary dump moves about 10 yards on the open side and faces the thrower.
Usually, the space vacated by the primary dump is open for an immediate pass to the secondary dump. Thrower decides immediately whether or not to throw to that space.
REWIND: Secondary is immediately shut down. Thrower turns back to primary. Primary is standing still and lets the thrower choose which side to throw to. Usually, a light floaty outside in throw to the backfield side will allow the primary to run onto the disc.
Thrower puts up a a soft throw away from the defender and the primary tracks it down.
REWIND: If all else seems blocked off, and stall is getting high. Put the disc down the field as far as possible.
STALL 9! Thrower puts the disc down the field. Put the disc in the air and deep and let one of our cutters have a chance at making a play. Even if they cant, we force the other team to work the disc farther for a score.
