Step by step 13 steps
  1. Step 1

What to do if another team puts a cup defense on us: #1) DON'T PANIC #2) Call a timeout so we can review the positions #3) Play confidently and make short, good passes. :)

  2. Step 2

So we are in our vertical stack when we notice that there are 3(!!!) defenders around the handler! The handler yells: CUP!! And the cutters go to their positions.

  3. Step 3

    The positions are: 1 crasher/rabbit (7), 2 pistons (5 & 6), and one deep (4)

  4. Step 4

Cup offense is all about moving the disc slowly up the field between the handlers. They will try to swing between themselves while slowly gaining yards. The cup will move to wherever the disc goes to try to trap it.

  5. Step 5

Meanwhile, the pistons will move in opposite directions as each other to try to time their cuts with the handler catching the disc. When the disc is on the right side of the field, cutter 5 cuts in but when it is on the left side of the field, cutter 6 cuts in.

  6. Step 6

    Piston movement....

  7. Step 7

    Piston movement...

  8. Step 8

Meanwhile, the crasher/rabbit tries to crash the cup by running through one hole and back out another. They can catch the disc inside the cup, but if they do they should give it right back to the handler to reset the stall count.

  9. Step 9

    Crash in one hole...

  10. Step 10

    ...and out the other.

  11. Step 11

Meanwhile, the deep stays active in case they get a long pass from the handler, or they will be the continuation if one of the pistons gets the disc.

  12. Step 12

    The piston catches the disc...

  13. Step 13

The deep OR the rabbit can look for a continuation.
