1&2 are responsible for covering the handlers. As the disc gets swung back and forth 1&2 move with it to cover the nearest handlers to the disc.
3,4,5 act as a wall. They stay in front of the cutters and play man to man with anyone that enters their vertical lane of the field. They do not chase cutters outside of their lane, but as long as there is a cutter in their lane, they play man to prevent a throw to that cutter.
6&7 act as rotating deeps. One is always deep while the other cheats in to watch for over the top throws as well as break throws. Generally the break side deep will be the one poaching in closer to the cutters, but if needed they will drop back
The overall goal of the zone is to get the disc to the force sideline and trap it there to force a turnover
